Training people to extend the internet, using low-cost wireless equipment, is the heart of WirelessU.org. Extending the internet does not take a PhD or cost a huge amount, but it does require some knowledge and understanding of how the Internet operates. We believe that this can be taught, using our WirelessU curriculum, approach, and network of trainers.
We do need to organize training events, and sometimes we do need some funding for expenses. However, the most important thing is "we need people"! People to organize the events, technical people of expert that can teach, people to help with the website, and also, we need students!
These pages describe the WirelessU curriculum, how the training events are organized, a calendar of upcoming and recent trainings, a project plan template to help design a new event, and finally a listing of people that are known to be qualified as expert trainers in creating low-cost wireless networks.
