General Site Guidelines

Welcome to WirelessU!

Our goal is to make WirelessU the most valuable online resource for wireless networking training. If you have suggestions for how to improve WirelessU, please let us know.

System Requirements

WirelessU works best using Firefox, but it also works with all other modern browsers.

You will also need a fast Internet connection (or a lot of time) to download some of the larger unit materials, such as video and audio recordings.

Training materials are available in a variety of formats. You will need a program appropriate for the content you have downloaded (such as a PDF reader, OpenOffice, a media player, or a web browser).

Browsing the Site

To get started, click the "Browse" tab at the top of the page, or use the Search box to find a topic of interest.

Once you have found a unit that interests you, choose the relevant files to download at the bottom of the unit. A single training unit may include slides, handouts, worksheets, video lectures, or other materials.

Your Account

Many features of WirelessU are only available if you have an account. Sign up for an account if you don't already have one: it's free!

Once you have created your account, fill in your profile information and upload a photo of yourself. If you would like to upload your own training materials, contact a site administrator so we can add you to the list of trainers.

Tags

As you browse the training units, you will notice the "Topics" block on the left side. This is a cloud of tags (or categories) that have been assigned to each unit. Once you create an account and log in, you can add your own tags to any unit!

Tagging helps to improve the site by making it easier to find related materials. Please help to make the site better by adding your own tags to our training materials.

Event Calendar

The WirelessU event calendar lists upcoming training events that will be presented or attended by WirelessU members. If you would like to add your own upcoming training events, please contact us.
